Setup instructions

Check your setup before you download.

Your Mac
The included v0.2.3 download is for Apple silicon Macs running macOS 13 or later. There is no Intel download here.
Your remote
Start with Siri Remote Gen 3 (USB-C). The app also lists Gen 1, Xiaomi Remote 2 Pro, and Xiaomi Remote Standard.
Your voice mode
App-only uses the Mac microphone. Remote audio requires Full Setup, Apple’s PacketLogger and extra permissions. Availability depends on your setup.
Security

A few things before you start.

Will a button automatically approve every change?

Actions depend on your mapping and the focused Codex Desktop screen. Review the result first and configure only shortcuts supported by your app version.

Is Remoter hardware or software?

Remoter is a Mac app. It maps Siri Remote Gen 3, Gen 1, Xiaomi Remote 2 Pro, or Xiaomi Remote Standard to pointer movement, scrolling and shortcuts. The remote is not included.

Does my voice leave the Mac?

Voice processing depends on your engine and settings. Local options include Apple Speech, WhisperKit and Ollama. Cloud providers such as Gemini and OpenAI send data to the service you choose and may charge fees.

Do I need the advanced microphone setup?

No for buttons, scrolling and voice through the Mac microphone. Full Setup is only for remote audio, if your setup meets its additional requirements.

Put the next move in your hand.
